Submit a case study for the BCAPA Spring CE Event!

As Suzanne is focusing on practitioners and their practice she’d like that everyone who registers submit one case study*, in writing, at least 2 weeks prior to the event (no later than Friday, March 18th), that the attendees can discuss as part of the class. It is optional, confidential, and case studies can be submitted anonymously or not.

If you choose to submit a case study, please email it to Suzanne directly at:
education@suzannecatty.com

*Per Suzanne Catty: “A case study is the notes for a client and each practitioner may do it differently depending on how they were taught. It generally includes intake form, consultation data (identifying data; eg: age, name; removed) treatment notes, outcomes etc… everyone has clients that are major successes but generally we also have clients that are problematic or do not respond to treatment. Analysing case studies in the context of the class can show us where we are going right, where wrong, what works, what doesn’t and why and also where our skills as practitioners need honing.

A client who is on 8-10 medications for instance, requires us to examine the meds and potential interactions, both with the other meds and with treatment options. This is important for the quality of the practitioners work, regulatory compliance and scope of practice, and understanding human health. Fear of expanding the scope of practice is a big stumbling block to practitioners. The French vs British aromatherapy ‘rules’ is a good example of how limitations are entrenched through fear.”

If you still haven’t registered for the event go ahead and…

What you’ll learn at Suzanne Catty’s workshop this spring!

The Professional Practice: The role of Aromatherapy and Complementary Medicine in 2015

Many CAM practitioners have developed part-time businesses but are unable or hesitant to make the leap to a full-time professional practice. This is true in many modalities but especially in the practice of Aromatherapy.

This 2 day workshop will help practitioners understand why and how to make the full-time step and the knowledge and responsibility that accompanies such a move.

What will keep your clients coming back year after year? How can you build a clientele even without accepting insurance? What is the public really looking for from CAM practitioners? What level of expertise is required of the practitioner to meet the needs and expectations of the public?

Take the leap and join Suzanne Catty for this intensive professional training based on 20 years of clinical practice. We will work from sourcing supplies, to navigating local laws, from practice beyond massage.
